Tai Chi Kung Fu Forms & Light Contact Related Rules

  • All Kung Fu forms 
  • Beginners’ level must have no less than 45 sec. Performance 
  • Intermediate level of Kung Fu to Advanced Level forms must not exceed 1.5 minutes 
  • All Kung Fu Weapons must have at least 45 sec to 1 minute but not exceed 2 minutes
  • All Tai Chi forms in beginners level must have at least 2 minutes
  • All Tai Chi traditional forms must have at least 5:30 to 6:30 minutes 
  • All Tai Chi 24 must have 5:30-6:00 minutes 
  • All Tai Chi weapons must have at least 1- 2:30 but not exceeding 6 minutes
  • All light continuous contacts may have two rounds with 30 sec to 1 minute  each round 
  • Light contact and continuous fight can be arranged according to weight and age at 3 levels B, I and A divisions
  •  Light contact must follow the rules of no head shots at all, light impact to the body and legs are allowed to score 
  • Light Contact may not have throws (only light Sanshou can have throws)
  • Continuous fights may not have throws but light touch to the side of the head or top of the frontal part of the head with head gears
  • All Light Sanshou or Teen Sanshou must follow the Sanshou rules with throws and intercepts but with no head shots at all.

Competitor Registration

This is a special event that gathers not only some of the most well-known original US Sanda/Sanshou team members and masters but also many younger fighters and coaches who have participated in our Sanshou/Sanda events in the US for the past 30 years, according to the director of the event.  

There are 3 major US Open fighting divisions besides light contacts.
A: Advanced Division
B: Beginner Division
N: Novice Division
